UK govt awards universities GBP 16 mln for 5G tests

The UK government has awarded GBP 16 million to three universities to research and trial 5G technology. King's College London and the Universities of Surrey and Bristol will develop a 5G test network under the first part of the government's four-year 5G Testbeds and Trials programme.
