UK govt plans legislation in 2022 to ensure PSB prominence on smart TVs - report

The UK government is planning to overhaul broadcasting rules to ensure the prominence of public service broadcasters (PSBs) on smart TVs, reports the Financial Times. According to unnamed Whitehall officials, legislative time will be cleared as early as 2022, with the new legislation drawing on recommendations to be published by regulator Ofcom in August.
