UK govt proposes Ofcom to oversee new rules on harmful online content

The UK government has proposed making communications regulator Ofcom responsible for enforcing its new policy on restricting harmful content online. This follows a consultation on the white paper issued in April proposing legislation to make internet companies responsible for eliminating harmful content on their sites.
