UK regulator outlines plans for BT-EE investigation

The UK competition regulator has published a new statement of issues identified in its initial assessment of BT's planned takeover of EE. The issues statement sets out the scope of the investigation and outlines the key questions the Competition and Markets Authority is examining. In addition to the retail mobile and broadband markets, the CMA said it was also looking at the markets for mobile backhaul, wholesale mobile services and wholesale broadband and how these would be impacted by the proposed merger. The statement does not imply that the regulator has yet identified any competition
