New research from Childwise shows that UK children are spending more time online than watching TV for the first time, reports The Guardian. The report shows that 5-15 year olds are spending on average 3 hours a day using the internet, compared to 2.1 hours a day watching TV. The amount of time spent watching TV has fallen from 2.3 hours a day in 2015, with the time online up 50 percent from 2 hours a year earlier. The time spent reading books for pleasure has fallen from one hour a day in 2012 to just over 30 minutes a day in 2016.
