Union issues warning over BT pension review

Monday 24 July 2017 | 10:53 CET | News
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has issued a warning to BT that it will defend members' pensions after the company launched a review of the BT Pension Scheme (BTPS). Media reports have previously indicated that the BTPS deficit had reached GBP 13.9 billion at end-June 2016, up from around GBP 10 billion in 2015. The CWU warned that any attempt to close the scheme to future service accrual would be opposed by any means, including industrial action.
