UPC Austria customer complains about 2 Mbps average speed

Wednesday 25 May 2016 | 16:41 CET | News
UPC Austria customer Eva Silberschneider complained about low download speeds; instead of the promised 75 Mbps, she received 2 Mbps in the evenings, Der Standard reports. UPC advised her to reset the router, which did not improve the situation. UPC released a statement regarding the case stressing that it had offered a free modem replacement to eliminate the possible source of the error. The company will repeat the offer. Since 30 April, a EU directive obliges providers not to advertise the top but also the minimum speed, which is 18.75 Mbps in Silberschneider's case.
