UPC faces security risk over router passwords

Some customers of UPC Netherlands, which merged with Ziggo last year, are using older routers that can easily have the password hacked, reports Tweakers. A link is available on social media to an application providing standard log-in details for the UPC routers. Research last year from the Radboud University in Nijmegen also found that some wireless routers from KPN and Ziggo can be easily hacked in a similar way. The providers subsequently advised customers to change their passwords.
