UPC Ireland sees 20% growth in Oireachtas TV viewers

Tuesday 23 September 2014 | 09:14 CET | News
Cable operator UPC Ireland has seen a 20 percent increase in viewership for Oireachtas TV, the country's dedicated parliamentary channel, since moving it to channel 207 from channel 801, which placed it alongside mainstream news and current affairs channels. Some 55 percent of UPC subscribers regularly now view the channel. UPC was the first operator to broadcast Oireachtas proceedings as a pilot in November 2011. The Parliamentary channel provides unfiltered access to debates, committees and other proceedings from both houses.
