UPC Netherlands grows in broadband, but revenues lower

UPC Netherlands reported first-quarter sales down 3 percent to EUR 232 million. EBITDA fell 4 percent to EUR 134 million, and the margin dropped to 57.6 percent from 58.7 a year ago. Capex reduced to EUR 38 million, giving stable operating cash flow of EUR 96 million. The cost of sales fell 2.8 percent, while SG&A increased 7.5 percent year-on-year. The cable network was expanded to 2.84 million homes passed at the end of March, up by 2,200 from three months earlier, while the number of customers fell by 16,300 in the same period to 1.62 million.
