UPC NL posts weak Q3, complete Ziggo takeover

UPC Netherlands reported third-quarter revenues of EUR 228 million, down 1.2 percent on an organic basis. Operating cash flow was down a slower 0.7 percent to EUR 132 million, and the margin rose to 58.1 percent from 57.7 a year ago. Parent company Liberty Global said the company suffered from tough competition from the incumbent in the Netherlands, making it one of the group's most difficult markets. UPC NL lost 13,200 customers in the quarter for a total 1.60 million, and ARPU was also lower due to a shift to cheaper packages and lower telephony traffic. Liberty Global reiterated that its
