US broadcasters start Project OAR to develop targeted advertising on smart TVs

The top broadcasters in the US announced the formation of a consortium to develop a new, open standard for addressable advertising on connected TVs. The effort will open up a direct, dynamic ad-management pathway between content owners and TV devices. Vizio is the first smart TV brand to participate in the project.
