US court allows class action against Facebook facial recognition

A US federal appeals court has ruled a class-action suit can go ahead against Facebook for allegedly illegally collecting and storing biometric data for millions of users without their consent, Reuters reports. The suit was first brought in 2015 by a group of Facebook users in Illinois, who claim the social network violated the state's privacy legislation.
