US court to hear net neutrality appeal in December

Tuesday 4 August 2015 | 11:20 CET | News
The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has scheduled the first hearing on industry appeals against the FCC's latest net neutrality rules for 04 December, the Wall Street Journal reports. The rules took effect 12 June, prohibiting blocking, throttling and pay-for-priority fast lanes on the internet. The FCC and a DC circuit court earlier rejected an appeal to stay the rules in order to allow for a full court ruling. The industry appeals were filed by groups including USTelecom, CTIA and ACA as well as operators AT&T and CenutryLink.
