US, EU business groups call for urgent deal on safe harbour

Four major business associations have warned the US and EU that they must reach a new deal allowing the exchange of personal data by businesses across the two territories. "This issue must be resolved immediately or the consequences could be enormous for the thousands of businesses and millions of users impacted," the letter from the US Chamber of Commerce, BusinessEurope, DigitalEurope and the Information Technology Industry Council said. It was sent to US President Barack Obama, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the 28 European heads of state, Reuters reports. The
