US govt staff told to continue blacklisting Huawei

Wednesday 3 July 2019 | 10:46 CET | News
The US President's remarks that the US would ease the trade ban on Huawei appear to have little impact on the administration's enforcement of the earlier imposed restrictions on selling to the Chinese company. An internal email at the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security seen by Reuters shows most requests for export licences to sell to Huawei are still likely to be refused. Huawei itself said it does not see Donald Trump's comments having much impact.
