US holiday tech spending forecast up 10%, smartphones most wanted gift

Tech spending on hardware and services during the 2020 holiday season in the US (October-December) is projected to reach USD 135 billion in revenue, a 10 percent increase from last year, according to a forecast from the Consumer Technology Association. Smartphones are once again the most wanted item among tech gifts, while game consoles moved up to third place from seventh last year, as new Xbox and Playstation products are launched.
