US innovators ask FCC to upgrade internet access for schools

A Group of 50 executives, innovators and entrepreneurs have joined the non-profit organisation EducationSuperHighway to urge the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to modernise the E-Rate programme, a move that will help advance the President's ConnectED goal to connect 99 percent of America's K-12 students to broadband in five years. The group includes CEOs from American Express, Adobe, Airbnb, Bloomberg, Dell, Dropbox, eBay, EMC, Facebook, Foursquare, Google, HP, Intuit, Microsoft, Netflix, Salesforce.com, Tory Burch, Xerox and Yahoo and represents approximately  USD 785 billion in
