US operators file for court stay of FCC net neutrality rules

USTelecom announced the filing of a petition asking the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit to stay the Federal Communications Commission's Open Internet order. The filing asks the court to rule on the petition by 11 June, a day before the net neutrality rules take effect. An earlier attempt by USTelecom and a number of industry groups and operators asking the FCC to stay the new rules was rejected. The groups also have a court challenge of the regulation pending. USTelecom President Walter McCormick said in a statement that they were not seeking to stay the so-called bright-line rules,
