US renews NSA's internet surveillance programme

US president Donald Trump has signed into law a bill renewing the National Security Agency's Prism and Upstream warrantless internet surveillance programmes, both of which former NSA contractor Edward Snowden exposed back in 2013. The law renews for six years and with minimal changes the NSA's programme to gather information from foreigners overseas, while incidentally collecting an unknown amount of communications belonging to Americans.
