US shelves latest attempt at net neutrality legislation

The latest attempt at legislation on net neutrality in the US has been shelved after failure to reach enough support in Congress. The proposal from Democrat congressman Henry Waxman would have stregthened the FCC's enforcement of existing open internet rules, which say internet providers cannot selectively block or slow web traffic, but stopped short of the FCC proposal to extend some of the Title II regulations to ISPs.
