US smartphone shipments fell 2% annually to reach 40 mln units in Q3

Wednesday 8 November 2017 | 14:36 CET | News
US smartphone shipments fell 2 percent annually to reach 40 million units in the third quarter, according to the latest research from Strategy Analytics. Motorola was the star performer, almost doubling its smartphone shipments from a year ago and capturing 5 percent marketshare. The US smartphone market slowed down, due mostly to mixed demand for new iPhones from industry leader Apple. Apple continues to be market leader in terms of shipped units, followed by Samsung, LG, ZTE and Motorola.
