US tech associations calls on Congress to put focus on broadband infrastructure before year-end

A coalition of US tech associations have penned a joint letter, asking House and Senate leaders to support and fund critical broadband infrastructure and services before year-end, especially amid the continuing covid-19 crisis. The letter calls on the leaders to support bipartisan legislation aimed at providing funding for broadband services for families and students, clarifying the extension of the current Cares Act for network deployment through 2021, and ensuring the FCC has funding to develop accurate broadband maps.
