US tech industry pays 5x more tariffs in July on 38% lower imports from China

The US tariffs on Chinese imports cost the 5G industry USD 143 million in July, according to estimates from the consumer technology industry group CTA. In total, the US consumer technology industry paid USD 1.9 billion in tariffs in July, five times more than a year earlier despite a 38 percent decrease in imports.
