VEB wants KPN to explain what happened with America Movil

Dutch shareholders group VEB wants KPN to explain, in an extra shareholder meeting planned for September, why it tried to sell off Belgian unit Base and German unit E-Plus. Officially, the additional meeting was scheduled to introduce new CFO Eric Hageman. According to the VEB, the sales strategy is at odds with the greater "strengthen, simplify, grow" strategy presented by KPN CEO Eelco Blok in May 2011.
