Velcom revenues up by 20% in Q2

Revenues of Belarusian mobile operator Velcom, a subsidiary of Telekom Austria, grew by 5.0 percent to EUR 85.3 million in the second quarter of the year. The revenues grew by 20.4 percent in local currency, mainly driven by price increases and higher data usage which lifted monthly fee and traffic revenues. Equipment revenues also increased on the back of the unbroken demand for smartphones and tablets. EBITDA grew by 2.6 percent to EUR 41.9 million and was up by 17.6 percent in local currency, despite a slight increase in operating expenses. Employee costs rose due to inflation-based salary
