Veon writes off assets in Kyrgyzstan

The Veon Group announced a writedown of all of the remaining value of its business in Kyrgyzstan, due to the unstable political environment and uncertainties arising on the recoverability of its assets there. As a result, the company recorded a total impairment loss of USD 64 million, allocated against the carrying value of property and equipment (USD 38 million), intangible assets (USD 8 million) and other assets (USD 18 million).
