Verizon lays off 155 staff at video service Go90

Verizon has laid off 155 staff working on its mobile streaming service Go90, multiple sources told Variety. Most are based at the main Go90 office in San Jose, California. The restructuring follows the takeover last year of Vessel, the online video service started by former Hulu executives. The Vessel team will lead an overhaul of Go90, according to the report. Verizon confirmed the layoffs, but denied any strategy changes, saying it remains committed to developing its online video services and advertising platform.
