Verizon releases new tools for IoT developers

Verizon announced new developments to bring M2M services to its LTE network. Ahead of an IoT developer event in Massachusetts, the operator said it's certified chipset platforms from Sequans and Altair for running LTE Cat 1 devices on its 4G network. This prepares the way for transitioning M2M services from 2G to 4G. Earlier this year, Encore networks certified the world's first Cat 1 IoT router on Verizon's LTE network. Verizon is also equipping developers with additional tools on its ThingSpace platform, with an expanded set of APIs and AEPs. This includes the integration of Bug Labs' dweet
