Verizon has teamed with Mutualink to provide interoperable critical communications services for first responders and related entities. Mutualink service is compatible with virtually any device and network, based on a software-centric model that removes hardware dependencies, allowing connections between smartphones, video cameras, land mobile radios and other devices, Verizon said. The offering should ensure that Verizon customers can also access the new Firstnet network operated by AT&T, as well as other local and regional public safety networks.
