Verizon Wireless triples LTE capacity in major cities

Verizon Wireless has tripled its LTE capacity in commercial corridors of major cities such as New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle and Washington, DC by leveraging new airwaves and has also boosted capacity by 150 percent in downtown San Francisco and Los Angeles, reported Gigaom. Once the upgrade is complete, Verizon customers will experience peak speeds of up to 80 Mbps, and Verizon will also be able to support more connections at faster speeds, the report said. Verizon is tapping the Advanced Wireless Services airwaves it acquired from the cable operators in 2012, Verizon Wireless
