VHF shutdown in Germany avoided as antenna, network operators reach framework agreement

The impending shutdown of VHF radio transmissions in Germany has been halted after five antenna owners agreed to a set of key points with network operators Uplink and Divicon to regulate the use of and access to VHF antennas, said Germany's national telecoms regulator the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA). Under the agreement, Division and Uplink will directly rent these antennas beginning 01 July and gradually connect its own transmitters to these antennas.
