Viacom-Dish carriage talks break down

Wednesday 20 April 2016 | 10:01 CET | News
US media company Viacom said its discussions with satellite TV operator Dish Network to renew its TV channels' carriage have broken down, reports the Wall Street Journal. Viacom, which owns Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV and other channels, said Dish was making impossible demands which will likely cause a black out of its programming. Dish and Viacom's last agreement expired at the end of January. Since then, the companies have been operating under a number of short-term extensions, the latest of which expires at midnight on 20 April.
