Video call traffic on Telefonica Spain network up 500% during lockdown

Telefonica has revealed that the amount of data consumed by video calls on its Spanish network has quintupled since the government placed the country's 47 million residents on lockdown in March to halt the spread of the coronavirus. The use of video chat tools posted a sharp rise in the second week of confinement in mid-March and continued to climb as the weeks passed up until the lockdown was eased in around half the country a week ago. Use of professional and collaboration apps for videoconferences by companies and the public administration has also risen by an average of 80 percent, said
