Virgin Mobile to focus on pre-paid market in Latin America

Virgin Mobile Latin America will launch pre-paid and managed plans, selling unsubsidised handsets through distributors and partners, according to the company's chairman, Phil Wallace. In an interview with Brazilian portal 'Mobile Time', he said that Virgin Mobile will be the first MVNO with simultaneous activities in several Latin American countries. A commercial launch is planned for Chile in March, while in Colombia, services should start up at the end of the year.
