Virgin wants BT-EE spectrum limits, but not BT split-up

UK cable operator Virgin Media's CEO told attendees of the Broadband World Forum that BT and EE should be stripped of spectrum licences following their GBP 12.5 billion planned merger, but urged regulators to not force the structural separation of BT from its Openreach infrastructure business. LightReading reports that Tom Mockeridge said the merged company would have around two-thirds of the UK's best spectrum, which "would leave too much spectrum in the hands of one company and would not be a good outcome."
