Visa throws its weight behind contactless in Strasbourg

Visa Europe and its member banks are taking an active part in Strasbourg's contactless payment pilot, viewing the city as France's second capital for the technology. Following a successful rollout in Nice a host of major French cities are running pilots, including Toulouse and Bordeaux in the Southwest. Visa member banks playing a major role in the Strasbourg pilot include Banque Edel, BNP Paribas, Banque Postale, Banque Populaire d'Alsace et Caisse d'Epargne d'Alsace (BPCE group), Credit Agricole, Credit Mutuel-CIC, HSBC, LCL and Societe Generale.
