Vivendi confirms plans to shut down Watchever

Wednesday 16 November 2016 | 12:05 CET | News
German video streaming service Watchever will close on the 31 December. Watchever's operator Vivendi confirmed that the service would cease operations by the end of the year, according to a report in Bild. Vivendi tried to sell the service after Netflix entered the German market in 2014, and attempted a restructure in September 2015. Client accounts will automatically close, with no further action required by users. Existing clients will pay their last monthly subscription in November, but can continue using the service until it ceases. New registrations are not being accepted.
