Vivendi increases stakes in Ubisoft, Gameloft

Vivendi announced that it has increased its stakes in French video game companies Ubisoft and Gameloft to 10.39 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively. As of 20 October, Vivendi held 11.6 million Ubisoft shares and 8.68 million Gameloft shares, acquired on the market for EUR 244 million and EUR 34.41 million. The purchases were financed through Vivendi's disposable cash. The group said, "These investments are part of a strategic vision of operational convergence between Vivendi's content and platforms on one hand and the Ubisoft and Gameloft productions in video games on the other." The move
