Vivo launches 4G in seven Brazilian cities

Telefonica Brasil's mobile unit Vivo has introduced 4G mobile telephony coverage in seven Brazilian cities. The operator will initially offer the services in the six host cities of the Confederations Cup, namely Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Brasília, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte and Recife, as well as in Sao Paulo, its main market. By the end of May, 4G will also be available in Santo Andre, Sao Bernardo do Campo and Sao Caetano do Sul, while the technology will be extended to the host cities of the World Cup by the end of the year.
