Vivo tests OpenRAN in northeast Brazil

Vivo has launched two pilots of OpenRAN technology in Petrolina and Juazeiro, two neighbouring cities located in Northeast Brazil, reports Teletime.com.br. The deployment consists of a 4G network over an existing commercial 3G network and the first conclusion is that the option is "viable and works", said Vivo's network planning director, Atila Branco, during a Futurecom online event.
