Vivo to pay 4G licence by end-2014

Telefonica Brasil/Vivo plans to pay by the end of the year its licence won in the 700 MHz frequency auction, either in cash or by increasing its debt, reports Reuters. Investor relations director Luis Plaster told an analyst meeting that the company had not yet decided whether it will use funds from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) for the so-called "cleaning of the band" - currently occupied by analogue TV channels - but pointed out that, typically, the public bank offers better funding conditions than the market.
