Vodacom Tanzania reaches 1 mln M-Pawa customers

Tuesday 2 December 2014 | 11:07 CET | News
Vodacom Tanzania said its mobile money service M-Pawa, launched in May in partnership with Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), has reached one million customers. M-Pawa enables customers to open a bank account on a mobile phone and save and borrow money. The operator says customers are able to save as little as TZS 1 and earn interest immediately, the Daily News reported. Through M-Pawa customers are notified of their eligibility for a loan relative to their M-Pesa history and on the Vodacom network. The more a customer uses Vodacom services, the more they can borrow on M-Pawa.
