Vodafone and Sky NZ seek clearance for merger

The Commerce Commission of New Zealand announced it has received two clearance applications relating to the proposed merger of Vodafone New Zealand (Vodafone NZ) and Sky Network Television (Sky). Sky is seeking clearance to acquire up to 100 percent of Vodafone NZ. In a separate application, Vodafone Europe BV is seeking clearance to acquire up to 51 percent of the shares in Sky. The two companies announced the deal earlier this month.
