Vodafone asks regulator to block TI-Metroweb deal

Vodafone Italia has written to Italy's anti-trust regulator AGCM to warn of the competitive implications of Telecom Italia's planned takeover of broadband provider Metroweb, reports Il Sole 24 Ore. Telecom Italia last week announced that a proposal had been sent to Italian infrastructure fund F2i asking to start discussions about the acquisition of a controlling stake in Metroweb "as soon as possible". F2i currently owns a 54 percent stake in Metroweb's holding company Metroweb Italia and is expected to shortly announce whether it is prepared to negotiate a sale. In the letter to the AGCM,
