Vodafone attaches mobile cells to drain covers in Stuttgart

Monday 10 October 2016 | 09:15 CET | News
Vodafone Germany has attached mobile communications cells to drain access ('manhole') covers to improve reception at Cannstatter Wasen, a festival area on the banks of the Neckar river in the Bad Cannstatt area of Stuttgart, where a folk music festival has just finished. The waterproof technology is located under a drain cover made of carbon fibre. The aim is to improve density of its grid there, which will be useful for events at the site but also in future for 5G development.
