Vodafone brings 4G network to Rome, Milan
Vodafone Italia announced it will introduce its LTE network in Rome and Milan from 30 October. After these two cities, it plans to cover 20 cities with 4G by March 2013. Prior to the official launch, Vodafone conducted a series of trials in Ivrea, Brusson in Valle d'Aosta, the Vodafone Village (company HQ), as well as Vodafone shops in Rome and Milan. According to local press reports, Vodafone Italia is expected to initially launch two 4G offers. The first will cost EUR 40 per month and include 15 GB plus an Internet Key or Wi-Fi device, while the second will cost EUR 45 per month for 30 months and include a Samsung Galaxy 8.9 tablet and 15 GB of traffic monthly.

Vodafone Italia announced it is extending its 4G offer to another 13 Italian cities. Vodafone Italia to charge EUR 10 for LTE access

Vodafone Italia has extended 4G connectivity to smartphones. Users equipped with a smartphone and 4G Sim can activate the offering for EUR 10 per month on top of their normal subscription and access mobile data at up to 100 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload. Free access to the service for data subscribers is available until 31 March. Vodafone Italia switched on the new LTE network in eight cities at the end of 2012, and the service will cover 20 cities by March 2013.

Vodafone Italia service revenues fall 10.2% in H1

Vodafone reported a net loss of 39,000 customers in Italy in its fiscal second quarter to September and a further drop in revenues. The customer base totaled 22.735 million at the end of September, down from 22.774 million three months earlier, with 82.3 percent of customers still on prepaid. The fixed-line subscriber base fell by 3,000 to 1.318 million. 3 Italia launches LTE services

Italian mobile operator 3 Italia has launched 4G mobile broadband services in the village of Acuto near Frosinone. The inhabitants of area, which had limited access to broadband, now can access the internet at speeds of 100 Mbps download and up to 50 Mbps upload. Vodafone Italia extends double top-ups promotion

Vodafone Italia has announced that it has extended its promotion 'Double the Top-ups' by two weeks until 17 November. All new customers switching to Vodafone Italia will double their top-ups for six months following successful completion of number portability. The promotion is valid only for requests made for numbers of other operators, such as TIM, 3 Italia, Wind and MVNOs. The maximum amount of double top-ups customers can receive in one month is EUR 100.

Vodafone Italia has announced the launch of broadband 4G trials in Valle d'Aosta. The LTE technology for mobile internet access is already in a technical test phase in the municipality of Brusson (Aosta) and supports speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The Valle d'Aosta trials follow similar trials already launched in Rome, Milan and Ivrea.

Vodafone Italia has chosen Ivrea near Turin as the first Italian city to receive 4G with LTE, allowing speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
