Vodafone Cameroon receives minister scolding - report

Tuesday 1 November 2016 | 10:22 CET | News
Cameroon telecoms minister Libom Li Likeng made a statement warning operators including Vodafone Cameroon that their activities are in violation of the current regulatory framework, reports Agence Ecofin. While the statement made no direct reference to Vodafone, unnamed sources within Minpostel (the Post and Telecoms Ministry) have revealed that it is in response to the recent launch of the 'Vodafone Cameroon' brand in the country. This launch follows the agreement between Vodafone and Afrimax Group, a LTE telecommunications operator in sub-Saharan Africa, announced in September.
