Vodafone Germany has signed a letter of intent with RheinEnergie, NetCologne and a local utility company to expand 5G and fibre network in Cologne. Vodafone's Vantage Towers, the tower infrastructure platform, is also part of the consortium. The partners want to introduce a model for network expansion that can be replicated nationwide. NetCologne will supply fibre-optic and empty conduits, RheinEnergie will provide street lamps and Vodafone will supply all other services. The cooperation will improve the coordination processes that are often long.
