Vodafone Germany launches first unlimited mobile data plan

Vodafone Germany will begin offering its private customers a new smartphone tariff with unlimited data beginning 15 May. The Red XL tariff will cost EUR 79.99 per month and includes unlimited data within Germany, 23 GB of data per month in other EU countries and unlimited calls, SMS and MMS to all German networks. 

The Red XL tariff costs EUR 99.99 per month in combination with a smartphone from the premium segment. Customers can also purchase Red+ cards from EUR 10 to use their Red tariffs on additional devices and share the tariff among family members.

The offer comes just weeks after Deutsche Telekom introduced the first unlimited data plan in Germany. Its MagentaMobil XL plan offers customers unlimited calls, SMS and high-speed data for EUR 79.95 per month. Data use for EU roaming is capped at 23 GB per month.

Vodafone is also releasing a new entry-level smartphone tariff on 15 May. The Red XS tariff costs EUR 24.99 per month for unlimited calls and SMS to all German networks, 1 GB of monthly data and the Vodafone Pass enabling customers to use certain apps and streaming services without consuming their monthly data. Any unused data at the end of the month will be rolled over to the next month for use via the 'GigaDepot'.

Vodafone is also increasing the amount of data contained in all of its Red mobile tariffs for customers who register for a tariff by the end of July. Red S customers will thus receive 4 GB of data per month for the duration their tariff, while Red M and Red L customers will receive 11 GB and 16 GB of data, respectively. 

Business customers can now enroll in Vodafone’s Red Business XL+ tariff and receive unlimited calls, SMS and MMS throughout Germany, the EU and Switzerland, unlimited monthly data in Germany and 30 GB of data per month throughout the EU for EUR 79.95 per month. 

The Black Business+ tariff meanwhile is designed for companies with extensive data needs abroad and offers business customers unlimited data and access to company emails, cloud servers and intranet applications throughout Germany, the EU, Turkey, Switzerland, the US and Canada for EUR 169.95 per month. The tariff also includes an UltraCard for use in additional tablets. Both the Red Business XL+ and Black Business+ tariffs contain Wi-Fi calling and a personal Vodafone contact partner for service issues.

Vodafone Germany to allow use of Vodafone Pass across EU from 13 December

Vodafone Germany has announced that it will extend use of its Vodafone Pass to the EU, Lichtenstein, Norway and Iceland from 13 December. The Vodafone Pass allows consumers to use selected chat, social, music and video apps without being charged for the data used. One category can be selected free of charge and others can be purchased for a fee.

Vodafone Germany simplifies postpaid marketing, drops unlimited plan from website

Vodafone Germany has simplified marketing of its Red postpaid plans, withdrawing the XS and XL offers from its website. This means its unlimited data plan introduced in May is only available by calling the company or visiting a shop. Three Red postpaid plans remain available on its website, ranging from 4 to 16 GB for EUR 25-35.

Deutsche Telekom is introducing new MagentaMobil Prepaid tariffs from 07 August. It will retain the S, M, L and XL options, all valid for four weeks, but will increase data allowances across the plans. The plans will still cost EUR 2.95, EUR 9.95, EUR 14.95 and EUR 24.95 per month respectively.

Vodafone Germany launches Uplift internal start-up incubator for employees

Vodafone has launched an internal start-up programme that allows Vodafone employees to pitch their ideas to the company's Uplift Me team and receive time and financial support to execute their ideas if successful. Vodafone said all 14,000 of the company's employees are eligible to pitch start-up ideas, and successful applicants will receive a full salary and can spend 50 percent of their working time developing their ideas for six months.

Vodafone Germany launches Red+ MultiSIM tariff with eSIM card for wearables

Vodafone Germany has launched a new tariff for accounts with multiple SIM cards, the Red+ MultiSIM tariff, that features an embedded SIM (eSIM) card designed for wearables. The additional eSIM card meets GSMA standards and uses the same mobile number and data volume as the main SIM card for a Vodafone Red or Young tariff and is thus suitable for smart watches, fitness arm bands or second devices like cars.

Vodafone Germany has released a new option that enables cable customers to increase the upload rates of their cable connection by up to 50 Mbps. Vodafone Germany runs promotion on prepaid CallYa tariffs for World Cup

Vodafone has launched a promotion for new prepaid customers to mark the start of the 2018 World Cup this month, reported TelTarif.de. Vodafone Germany is offering new broadband customers a rebate of up to EUR 150 if they register for a broadband tariff with Vodafone by 06 August, reported tariftipp.de.
